During the challenging days of the pandemic, we found ourselves facing financial difficulties like many others. But in the midst of uncertainty, we discovered a ray of hope – the Bambangan seed, a hidden gem from the forests of Borneo. With determination and creativity, we turned this waste product into something beautiful and useful – skincare products that proved to be a blessing for people with sensitive and eczema-prone skin. As word spread about the effectiveness of our creations, our little home-based business began to flourish.
As the pandemic gradually eased, we decided to take a leap of faith and move into a physical shop, marking a new chapter in our journey. But we didn't stop there. Knowing firsthand the challenges faced by underprivileged mothers trying to support their families, we made a commitment to provide them with flexible job opportunities, allowing them to balance work with their family commitments. With a growing team and a renewed sense of purpose, we continued to expand our product line, focusing on meeting the needs of those with eczema and sensitive skin. But we didn't stop at just skincare – we also embarked on a journey of discovery with the Biotechnology Research Centre at UMS, exploring the endless possibilities of the Bambangan seed.
Driven by our passion for sustainability, we found innovative ways to repurpose used cooking oil into household detergent, offering relief to those with eczema-prone skin while reducing waste. And to tackle the issue of plastic pollution, we introduced refillable stations at our shop, inviting our customers to join us in our mission to protect the planet.
But perhaps the most rewarding part of our journey has been the opportunity to give back to our community. Through soap craft workshops, we've empowered marginalized communities to learn new skills and generate income while promoting sustainability. And through basic hygiene education programs, we've equipped marginalized children with the knowledge and tools to stay healthy and safe.
As our story continues to unfold, one thing remains clear – our journey is not just about skincare; it's about making a difference in the lives of others and leaving a positive impact on the world. And as we look to the future, we're filled with hope and excitement for all the possibilities that lie ahead.
